    Amazondotcom Embarassment
Well, not really an embarassment, considering I have no shame in saying that Hugga Bunch is one of the best movies that ever appeared during my childhood. Anyway, I ordered it. And when I watched it, I couldn't remember how much fucking hugging was in the movie. I totally skipped the important details as a child.

I might as well wear a "loser" t-shirt for the rest of my life. Especially because as I type this, Leave it to Beaver is on TV. *sigh*

Next week, I'll be in Indy for vacation...which doesn't seem like much of a trip, except that it's the international Barbershop Convention, and we've never been able to go. We've had to watch it over the webcast. Aaaaand I'm stopping.

Is there anything non-dork going on in my life?

    No.

I'm trying to go on a one-week starvation diet, and by "starvation" I mean cutting back on food/calories, which is basically like starvation to me... Actually, I've been exercising a lot and it's helped.

This entry has been the worst ever, so why not end it with a cliche: That's all, folks.

    Summer
Okay, so I realized it's been a decade since I have updated, but I thought I would just to see if anyone still has enough faith in me to read about my life. My very bland life. Although, I finally rented some dvds with my tax check money, and I picked up two, in particular, that I liked: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Oliver Twist. I'm not sure if I like Prisoner of Azkaban or Goblet of Fire better, because I think the 3rd one had a slightly better plot. But that's just my opinion. However, I loved the acting in the latest HP, because it was more natural. Oh, and you know...Dan in the tub. I pretty much jumped aboard the M-Train Express for that scene.

    *clears throat*

Oliver Twist is a gem, in my opinion. I like movies that stay true to the novel, although Oliver! will always have a place in my heart. Darn that little Jack Wild. RIP.

Anyfuckinway, I have a job for the summer, and it's the same job I had a couple summers ago, working at my dad's bank. So that's good. I feel like I haven't been on AIM enough, and that's probably because my sister has been home for like...3 weeks *coughgohome!cough*...and since I've been out of school, we've been busy with all kinds of shit that seems important at the time, but really just sucks and is boring.

So. Bottom line: I need a new icon, layout for LJ, and I need to get on here more, because who likes fresh air and sunlight?

    Gobble.
Tonight, I'm checking out for Thanksgiving break. Our RA comes around and makes sure that our room is clean and everything is unplugged. Of course, I'm in the elite suite and I don't have to leave right when I check out...even though I want to. I'm teaching my second lesson of the semester at Mississinewa High school tomorrow morning. Thank god I'm doing this first period...I won't have to deal with the squirly little last-period fucks who will be bouncing off the walls. I'm going home right after my practicum. I went to a concert on Saturday with Jennifer, Matthew, and Nate... It was a hardcore show, and I've never been to one...but it was strangly...stimulating. I mean, yeah..I'm deaf in my right ear, but I was like...mesmorized by the dancing hardcore kids. They dance in these odd paterns and have certain moves... Not to mention, the guy on vocals in this band called Gwen Stacy is totally hot. Plus, he had a sweet ass. My roommate is asleep in the tv room. All I can see when I look around my desk are her feet hanging off the edge of the couch. We were going to clean.... oh well. Maybe I'll go to Wal-mart instead. I need some new makeup. The right side of my neck is cold. I should check to see if I still have a pulse. Yeah, I do.

    Is it Fall yet?
I haven't updated in like...ten days, so I figured this was a good time. I'm sick of school already, and wish I were only taking 2 classes: Methods of English Teaching and American Novel. American Lit. is okay, but my prof is seriously going on about 90 years old, and her voice puts me to sleep. I'm finally reading Huck Finn...and it's really good. I'm wishing I would have read it earlier. Nothing too exciting is going on in my life. I help my mother teach dance on Wednesday nights, and that's pretty much the highlight of my week. I'm helping her choreograph "Hard Knock Life" and it's making me wish I would get more involved with Musical Theater. That's about all. I've been feeling particularly boring lately. Not bored. Boring. Well, okay....bored too. I think I'm just ready for fall. I hate September with a passion.

Dear Tanya, I took this from you...
Look at your LJ interests list. If you have fewer than 50 interests, pick every fifth one. If you have between 50 and 75, pick every seventh one. If you have more than 75, pick every tenth one. If you have fewer than 10, pick them all. List them on your LJ, and tell everyone exactly what it is about these things that interests you so much.

Barbershop: My dad has sung in a quartet since before I was born, so naturally, I've been exposed to barbershop music all of my life. Plus, it's different and acapella, and I have obsessions with chord progressions. Barbershop has a lot of those.

Burning CDs: I devloped this obsession after we downloaded Nero on our computer at home. I like making mixes and themed CDs, not to menionn, I enjoy making my own CD covers.

Dean Koontz: I read my first Dean Koontz book over the summer. it was incredibly scary and awesome, and I stayed up until really early in the morning reading about 250 pages of it.

Empire of the Sun: This was the second movie I watched with Christian Bale as the main character, and it became my favorite.

Harry Potter: I'm a HP junkie. I've seen all of the movies, but sadly, have never read any of the books. Terrible, I know. Prisoner of Azkaban is my favorite so far.

Judging Amy: This is my #1 favorite show. Tyne Daly is probably my favorite actress, and one of TV's strongest female characters.

movies: I watch a lot of movies, in general. I almost like it better than reading.

Opera: The Phantom of the Opera has been my favorite since I was little. I know the whole thing by heart.

Shrimp: I don't know, I just like it.

The Sound of Music: Julie Andrews is my idol. I know all of the songs, have seen the play, and am pretty much obsessed.

Will and Grace: Probably my 2nd favorite show on television. My roommate has seasons 1, 3, & 4, and we watch them religiously. Plus, I just love the cleverness of it. Who doesn't love gay humor?

    Joe Normal
    43 % Nerd, 34% Geek, 26% Dork
    For The Record:

A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.
A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.
A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.
You scored less than half in all three, earning you the title of: Joe Normal.

This is not to say that you don't have some Nerd, Geek or Dork inside of you--we all do, and you can see the percentages you have right above. This is just to say that none of those qualities stand out so much as to define you. Sure, you enjoy an episode of Star Trek now and again, and yeah, you kinda enjoyed a few classes back in the day. And, once in a while, you stumble while walking down the street even though there was nothing there to cause you to trip. But, for the most part, you look and act fairly typically, and aren't much of an outcast.

I'd say there's a fair chance someone asked you to take this test. In any event, fairly normal.

    Congratulations!

If you enjoyed this test, I would love the feedback!

I still have over two weeks until school starts again, and I'm so ready to go back.  I'm sick of being home, and I'll be even more bored when my sister leaves for college on Sunday.  I guess I'll have to...hang out with my friends or something.  Usually I'd rather just hang out with my sisters.... Odd.  I know.  Anyway, I bought a pretty duvet cover for my comforter and I painted this vintage lamp a pale green color to match...plus I bought this kick-ass fleece blanket that is also green... I've created a new theme without even trying.  I do it every year.  I'm splurging next week to buy some new tennis shoes for the gym.  I've had the same ones for like 2 or 3 years.  Oh, and I bought a new book bag which is a Jansport and blue...it's a shoulder bag.  So I guess I'm decked out.  I think it was a couple of weekends ago, but my cousins were in The Sound of Music, and the younger one, Rachel, who is 17, played the part of Louisa. She's really good.  I was impressed.  It made me want to be in a musical.  I've only been in one and it wasn't a huge part or anything.  The musical I really want to be in is Oliver!.  Dude, I mean...I already know all of the songs.  Our computer has a fucking virus, so it's a miracle that it's letting me type this at all.  I really need to change my icon at the forum.  I've had the same one forever, and it's starting to annoy me.  Oh yeah.  I can't wait for RENT the movie.  That will be like the hugest musical orgasm for me.  Ugh, I have to help Whitney pack tonight, and I really don't want to.  *slams head against wall*

    Current things I'm enjoying...

    As always:

ABC's 'Brat Camp' (I liked the British group of teens better)

    'Judging Amy'

Burberry:  Ha!  Like I could afford it.

    Liam Cunningham:

    The color green:

    Look.  It's green.

    The 5 Shagables

*Runner up*- Not quite making the top 5, but still totally shagable: Noah (Ryan Gosling) in 'The Notebook'

    5. The #5 character I'd love to shag would be Will (Hugh Grant) in 'About a Boy.'

    2. Who else but Jack Dawson (Leonardo Dicaprio) in 'Titanic' should come in at #2?

    Utter Confusion

So I guess my last day of work is this coming Friday.  I don't really know what to think about that.  My boss talked to me yesterday and said something along the lines of "Yeah...We originally just budgeted you in until the end of July..is that okay?"  And I felt like telling him that I'm not stupid....if they don't need me anymore..just fucking tell me.  Don't insult me.  I think that because I look a lot younger than I really am, people treat me as if I don't know anything.  And that's fine.  Because the truth is, I worked with a bunch of uneducated wankers who do nothing but complain and wedge themselves 2 feet up the boss's ass.  So I really don't mind getting the fuck out of there.  I hated my job.  And it's incidences like these that really make me hate people in general.  I'm excited to have the whole month of August free, though.  It will give me a chance to prepare for my interview into the Education program and to visit my sister in Terre Haute.  And to sleep.  Sleep is good.  I'm ready to go back to school.  I hate Wabash.  This has got to be the most boring, skanky town I have ever been in.  At least I have money saved up for the school year.

    Mood of the day: Confused

Music Binge of the Week: Ben Jelen

    She sits beside her
Stares out across the waves as she's digging in the sand
    And looks around her
And knows the crazy world would never understand

    And she says,
    "Please would you find me
    I've lost my way
Please would you save me now"

He wakes to find that he's out of love again
And it's time for him to run
    And back inside her
He feels his innocence slowly setting with the sun

    And he says,
    "Please would you save me
    I'll lose my way
Please would you help me to escape"

And their answers lie in a setting sun
And the reasons why will remain unknown
'Cause we live our lives 'till we come undone
    We just have to believe
    We just have to believe
    We just have to believe

    I made salsa.
It was the messiest thing I have ever done. It was probably messier than open-heart surgery. Seriously. Smashed tomatos and onions EVERYWHERE. But hey, it tastes good. Oh, jalepeƱo juice squirted into my eye and it was basically the worst pain ever. Then I got it all over my hands and they burned. So I think I just turned on Laurel Canyon to take my mind off of it. Don't worry. It went away. Let's see...I watched Varsity Blues, made cookies, did all of my laundry, roamed around LJ for a ridiculous amount of time, and managed to change my pants about 4 times. I think I have a problem. I came home on my lunch break and changed my entire outfit AND put my hair back into a ponytail, because I was really uncomfortable. Anyway, people looked at me weird because I completely changed clothes, but they never said anything. I was sure someone would ask me about it. So, yeah. Issues. I hate work. I want to be one of the losers who roams nearly topless around town, pregnant, with my beer bottle. Well, okay. Hardly true. But my summer's almost over and it makes me sad. Kind of.
